Join MAX for The Metropolitan Opera Live in HD theater broadcast of the Puccini's classic opera Tosca.
In a first for MAX, this event is being held simultaneously in San Francisco and Palm Springs!
The opera will be simulcast to the AMC Metreon Theatre in San Francisco and to the Regal Palm Springs Theatre in in Palm Springs, on Saturday, April 11th, starting at 9:55 AM.
Tosca is an intense melodramatic political thriller set in Rome in June 1800 (during the Napoleonic wars), with all the action taking place over less than 24 hours. The plot centers around three main characters, Rome's diva Floria Tosca, her lover Mario Cavaradossi (a painter and a republican), and the corrupt Chief of Police, Baron Scarpia. Scarpia manipulates Tosca into revealing the hiding place of her lover, an escaped political prisoner. When Cavaradossi is captured, Scarpia offers Tosca a horrific bargain - she must give herself to Scarpia or her lover will be killed.
For dues-paying members and their guests attending in San Francisco, we have reserved a block of 10 tickets which can be purchased from MAX here.
