MAX Cruise: Round-Trip SF to Mexico

On Thursday May 9th, fifteen from MAX departed San Francisco on the Carnival Miracle cruise ship for a round-trip voyage to Ensenada, Mexico.  Saturday May 11th we enjoyed a private guided tour of the Guadalupe Valley wine growing region, including wine tasting at three wineries, including Clos de Tres Cantos and Xecue.  After the wine tastings, we enjoyed lunch at Elena Restaurant, a remarkable fine dining restaurant within the rural countryside of the Guadalupe Valley.  Many thanks to David Petlin of Flair Travel who organized our private tour and handled our cruise ship bookings.

On the cruise ship, we gathered for drinks late each afternoon.  From there, those interested dined together as a group in the main dining room.  With two sea days, we had time to indulge our individual onboard interests, be it spa treatments, the casino, specialty dining, art auctions, comedy shows, song and dance revues, trivia games, bars, and the nightclub.  The sea was smooth in both directions.  We sailed back into San Francisco in the early morning hours of Monday, May 13th.

This completed our first MAX Cruise (a cruise originally scheduled for
March 19, 2020).
