Bay History Cruise along Northern Shoreline

MAX and the Black-Tie Club embarked on the Pacific Pearl boat for an amazing and highly educational shoreline tour. The boat stopped along various points from Chase Center to under the Golden Gate Bridge. Our super knowledgeable guide, Chris Carlsson, weaved extra tidbits of gay history for our group. These gay-related stories were largely unbeknownst to most, including the Swish Palace in the waterfront and Embarcadero area that was a major queer nightlife zone in the 1940s-1950s. After disembarkation, most MAXers walked to Gott’s in Chase Center to enjoy a casual dinner and more socializing.
