Join MAX for an evening featuring the renowned jazz vocalist Paula West.  Paula West will be performing at Keys Jazz Bistro in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood on March 14, 2025.  The evening at Keys Jazz Bistro will start with an optional cocktail hour and optional dinner.

Paula West’s distinctive approach and repertoire have earned her critical acclaim, with performances at esteemed venues like Yoshi's and The Jazz Standard.  West's collaborations with pianist/arranger George Mesterhazy have been widely praised.  Her performances often feature unexpected songs, including Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues and The Beatles' Fixin' A Hole.  Born in 1959 and raised in San Diego to a Marine Corps family, Paula West discovered jazz in college.  West refined her craft after moving to San Francisco around 1988-89.  With a career spanning decades, Paula West continues to captivate audiences with her unique voice and style!

Keys Jazz Bistro features the best of Bay Area artists in an intimate concert setting.  Co-owned by Simon Rowe and Matt Mullenweg, the 4,000-square-foot space has hosted legendary musicians, including Sérgio Mendes and Vince Guaraldi.  Keys Jazz Bistro opened in November 2022 in a historic venue long-associated with Jazz (same building as the historic ‘50s Jazz Club, El Matador).

Keys Jazz Bistro is committed to preserving the sacred relationship between musicians and audience.  The venue promises an immersive experience, with no seat more than 25 feet from the bandstand.  Keys Jazz Bistro hosts their main performers at 7 pm and 9 pm, Wednesday through Saturday.  Saturday features an additional late night performance at 11pm.  Sunday performances are at 5 pm and 7 pm.

Keys Jazz Bistro features a full-service bar and kitchen.  Quench your thirst at their fully stocked bar, featuring an impressive wine list with international selections. Savor their culinary delights with a menu offering appetizers, entrees, and desserts, perfect for enjoying before or during the show.  For this evening, the menu will consist of traditional Australian meat pies (vegan version available) and salads.

For this MAX event, the evening will start with an optional Happy Hour from 5pm-6:30pm.  Come early and enjoy the Happy Hour specials!

Dinner service and seating begins at 6pm, for those choosing to dine before the show.

The showtime will be 7pm.  To maintain an intimate atmosphere, food and drink service are discreet during performances.  Keys Jazz Bistro recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before show time to ensure reserved seats!

Please arrive by 6:30pm for the show and by 5:50pm if interested in the 6pm seating for dinner before the show.

Please Note: When a performance is fully booked, every seat will have a guest, which may require sharing of tables.

Tickets are $42.  Attendees will pay for their own food and drink.  Those who are not dues-paying members may purchase tickets March 8th - March 13th, if any tickets remain unsold at that time.  Registration deadline March 13th.  No refunds for cancellations after March 12th.

If you plan to arrive for a 6pm seating for dinner, please email the organizer, Lawrence Wu at lawrence.wu@maxsf.org, so that Lawrence knows how many to expect for dining.
