How to spend a likely rainy Sunday in January?

Join MAX for a newly remastered IMAX concert film of the rock group Queen.  This film, featuring the iconic Freddie Mercury, shows Queen performing in Montreal at the height of their fame in 1981.

The film has been digitally re-mastered for the first time into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience, including 12-channel surround sound, crystal-clear images, and IMAX’s customized theatre geometry.

This remastered film of Queen's exhilarating 1981 live concert gives audiences a larger-than-life, front-row immersive experience.  This film captures a pivotal moment in the band’s history.  When Queen returned for the fourth time to Montreal’s 18,000-seat Forum in November 1981, where this concert was recorded, it was after a 15-month absence during which they became the biggest band in the world.  Read more about the movie here and here.

MAX will be watching an early evening, 6pm, showing.  The film is 95 minutes long.  With previews, we should be out by 8pm or shortly thereafter.

We'll meet upstairs in the concession lobby of the AMC Theatre on the 3rd floor of the Metreon by 5:40 PM to give everyone time to get any refreshments and get settled before the 6:00 PM showing (which will start with about 20 minutes, or so, of previews).

We have reserved a block of 10 tickets.  We'll be sitting in seats G12 – G16 and H12 – H16.  You may view the seating chart for this performance here.

The cost for the pre-purchased tickets to watch the concert film is $28  The deadline to register and reserve a ticket is Thursday, January 18^th.
