My Favorite Place: Oktoberfest at Leopold's

Join MAX for a festive Oktoberfest afternoon and evening on Sunday, October 13th.

Join Jim Cady at  another of his favorite restaurants, Leopold’s Gasthaus.  Dining at Leopold’s is like being transported to a traditional Austrian or Bavarian Gasthaus.  A favorite on Russian Hill, Leopold's serves up authentic Austrian classics such as Wienerschnitzel (Jim rates it the best in the Bay Area), house-made Bratwurst, Käsespätzle (Austria’s awesome answer to mac ‘n cheese), Kartoffelpuffer mit Lachs (potato pancakes with lox), and Gulasch, along with an extensive selection of Austrian and Bavarian beers.

For those dinner attendees that are interested, Jim will also be hosting an optional viewing of the Blue Angels from the rooftop of his Pacific Heights apartment earlier that afternoon.  With an unobstructed view of the Bay, this is an ideal vantage point to watch the Navy fighter jets in action up close and personal.  The Blue Angels performance kicks off at 3 p.m. and will be followed by cocktails at Jim’s, and then a short (0.8 mile) downhill walk to Leopold's.  If interested in joining Jim for dinner at Leopold’s register and pay on the left.  And if you’re interested in watching the Blue Angels and having cocktails beforehand, please email Jim at jim.cady@maxsf.org.

My Favorite Place is our monthly dinner series.  Each month a MAX member selects one of their favorite restaurants to introduce to the MAX community. 

Advance $30 deposit is required to secure your reservation.  Your deposit will be applied to the cost of your meal and beverages.  Each MAX member will be responsible for paying for their food and drinks in excess of the deposit.  No refunds for cancellations after Wednesday October 9^th.
