SF Playhouse Presents "Fat Ham"

Join MAX for a performance of the critically-acclaimed and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Fat Ham", at San Francisco Playhouse on March 27.  The play starts at 7:00, and we will have a wine and appetizer reception for the MAX group starting at 6:30.

Playwright James Ijames reinvents Shakespeare’s masterpiece with his new drama. Juicy is a queer, Southern college kid, already grappling with some serious questions of identity, when the ghost of his father shows up in their backyard, demanding that Juicy avenge his murder. It feels like a familiar story to Juicy, well-versed in Hamlet’s woes. What’s different is Juicy himself, a sensitive and self-aware young Black man trying to break the cycles of trauma and violence in service of his own liberation.

SF Playhouse is located at 450 Post Street, inside the Kensington Park Hotel, right off Union Square. There will be 15 premium seats available at the discounted price of $50 ($84 regular price) for MAX members ($55 for guests and non-members).  Tickets will be distributed in the lobby. Price includes the wine and appetizer reception.
